This study examines the provinces of Varese and Como in Lombardy, exploring the relationship between local socioeconomic conditions and health issues using both quantitative and qualitative research approaches. Commissioned by the regional health authority (ATS Insubria), the research aims to support health promotion and prevention strategies by addressing broader health inequalities. The quantitative analysis draws on data from multiple sources to map the area’s socioeconomic landscape, identifying three distinct clusters based on levels of deprivation. Complementing this, qualitative insights from focus groups with healthcare and social service professionals shed light on local health challenges and resource gaps. The findings highlight the need for interventions that consider both individual agency and structural determinants of health. The study advocates for community-led initiatives and long-term planning to reduce systemic barriers and promote health equity across the region.

Abstract
The study advocates for community-led initiatives and long-term planning to reduce systemic barriers and promote health equity across the region.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
