The paper analyzes child violence toward parents through three perspectives: medial, scientific and educational. The media gaze tends to describe facts with an emphasis on extreme cases, such as matricides and patricides, offering simplified explanations based on direct causality or exceptional events. However, scientific analysis points to an articulated and complex phenomenon that characterizes violence acted daily by children within the home, which emerges and intensifies during adolescence. Delving into how violence at this stage of development is characterized, from the Sartrian perspective, as a paradoxical attempt to assert one's subjectivity, the connection of such violence with permissive and authoritarian parental educational styles is highlighted. It concludes by emphasizing the need for the revitalization of the dimension of family mediation and intergenerational translation.
L’articolo analizza la violenza dei figli verso i genitori attraverso tre prospettive: mediale, scientifica e educativa. Lo sguardo dei mass-media tende a descrivere i fatti con un’enfasi su casi estremi, come matricidi e patricidi, offrendo spiegazioni semplicistiche basate su causalità diretta o eventi eccezionali. Tuttavia, l’analisi scientifica fa emergere un fenomeno articolato e complesso che caratterizza una violenza agita quotidianamente dai figli tra le mura domestiche, la quale emerge e si intensifica durante l’adolescenza. Approfondendo come la violenza in questa fase di sviluppo si caratterizzi, a partire dalla prospettiva sartriana, come tentativo paradossale di affermazione della soggettività, si evidenzia la connessione di una violenza siffatta con gli stili educativi genitoriali permissivo e autoritario. Si conclude sottolineando la necessità del recupero della dimensione di mediazione familiare e di traduzione intergenerazionale.
