In recent decades, there has been much talking about “new wars”, based on the idea that armed conflicts have taken on completely different forms from those of the past. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the multiplication of wars in the most diverse contexts seem to have changed everything. This article examines the breaks and continuities between the “new wars” and the present, in an attempt to identify continuities and breaks in the forms of military action, models of territoriality and the stakes of armed conflict.

Abstract
In recent decades, there has been much talking about “new wars”, based on the idea that armed conflicts have taken on completely different forms from those of the past. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the multiplication of wars in the most diverse contexts seem to have changed everything. This article examines the breaks and continuities between the “new wars” and the present, in an attempt to identify continuities and breaks in the forms of military action, models of territoriality and the stakes of armed conflict.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
